Essence of American and Chinese Gratitude Culture: A Prerequisite Quality of Responsible Citizen
Abstract: This thesis first introduces the definitions of gratitude in China and Western countries. It then describes the manifestations that many Chinese young people lack gratitude; and analyzes the reasons of the manifestations. The thesis mainly discusses the manifestations of American and Chinese gratitude culture and summarizes the essence of them. Finally the thesis makes an argument that acquiring the essence of American and Chinese gratitude culture is essential for Chinese young people to be responsible citizens; and it also analyzes the benefit of gratitude idea for young people and society.
